LinkedIn Fights Against AI Content; New Steps Taken to Restrict AI Slop
LinkedIn has taken new steps to reduce the spread of low-quality content entirely generated by Artificial Intelligence (AI), often referred to as "AI Slop." According to recent reports, the platform is implementing new tools and policies to identify and restrict posts with repetitive content, lacking unique perspectives and professional value.
Among these measures, LinkedIn has added a "Seems like AI slop" button, allowing users to report suspicious content. Furthermore, it has removed the "Enhance your post" feature, which used AI to edit posts, and added new warnings to posts that closely resemble AI-generated content.
This decision follows analyses showing that a significant portion of public posts and comments on LinkedIn are generated with the help of AI. However, LinkedIn states that the goal of this policy is not to oppose AI itself, but rather to protect content quality and encourage users toward authentic and professional engagement.
For marketers and Content Creators, this change means AI content should not be published without human editing. Experts suggest using AI as a supplementary tool, but maintaining a unique perspective, personal experience, and brand voice in the content is essential, as LinkedIn is prioritizing authenticity and trust now more than ever.
