AMC Global Media Reports 6% Streaming Revenue Growth Following Major Netflix Licensing Deal
AMC Global Media has reported its second-quarter 2026 financial results, showing continued momentum in streaming despite challenges in traditional television advertising. The results reinforce how streaming platforms and content licensing remain key drivers of growth across the global entertainment industry.
One of the biggest highlights is AMC's recently announced $500 million global co-exclusive licensing agreement with Netflix for The Walking Dead Universe. The long-term partnership is expected to generate significant revenue over the coming years while expanding the franchise's global reach.
During the April–June 2026 quarter:
- Streaming revenue increased 6% year-over-year to $180 million.
- U.S. advertising revenue declined 11% to $109 million, partly due to a temporary system integration issue.
- International revenue increased 4%, supported by stronger advertising and content licensing performance.
- AMC raised its full-year revenue forecast to $2.4–$2.5 billion, reflecting the positive financial impact of the Netflix licensing agreement.
AMC expects to receive approximately $25 million in 2026, followed by around $100 million annually from 2027 through 2030 under the Netflix deal. The company estimates it will recognize approximately $200–225 million in annual revenue from the agreement during both 2026 and 2027.
AMC's streaming portfolio includes AMC+, Acorn TV, Shudder, Sundance Now, ALLBLK, HIDIVE, and All Reality, alongside its television networks and film distribution businesses.
Kristin Dolan, CEO of AMC Global Media, said the expanded partnership with Netflix strengthens the company's long-term strategy of maximizing the value of its intellectual property and global distribution partnerships.
