A24 brings Alex Garland's Elden Ring to AFM after major Amazon deal
The studio will present visual materials for the $200m video game adaptation to theatrical buyers in Los Angeles, having already secured an international streaming pact with Amazon MGM Studios.
A24 will launch international theatrical sales on Alex Garland's sci-fi fantasy epic Elden Ring at the American Film Market, having already closed a major international pay-1 agreement with Amazon MGM Studios.
Carrying a reported budget between $175m and $200m, the project marks the studio's most expensive production to date. A24 executives will host an acquisition presentation in Los Angeles during the market, running November 10 to 15, where visual assets are expected to be shown to buyers in lieu of footage while post-production continues.
The video game adaptation features an ensemble cast including Kit Connor, Ben Whishaw, Cailee Spaeny, Tom Burke, Havana Rose Liu, Sonoya Mizuno, Jonathan Pryce, Ruby Cruz, and Nick Offerman. The project reunites Garland with Connor, who appeared in his 2025 A24 release Warfare, and Offerman, who previously starred in the creator's Hulu series Devs.
In the United States, the film will stream on HBO Max under A24's existing domestic pay-1 arrangement. The sales rollout follows recent distribution activity for the company, including the Venice premiere of Robert Pattinson vehicle Primetime and the release of documentary You Can See Everything.
